The RHEEM Heat Trap Nipple For Water Heaters prevents heat loss from the water heater, helping to save energy and maintain efficient operation. This RHEEM Heat Trap Nipple is an essential part of your Rheem water heater system for energy savings and optimal performance.
FEATURES
- In hot water outlet fitting, a Teflon ball (heavier than water) seats to trap standby heat, preventing convective heat loss through the fitting
- Polypropylene ball (lighter than water) in the cold water inlet fitting reduces heat loss
- When water is drawn, both balls are moved from their standby positions for proper water flow to and from the tank
- Cuts convective heat loss in the piping by as much as 60% during standby
- Dielectric fitting construction shields against galvanic corrosion
- Both fittings are electro zinc plated and polypropylene lined
- By-pass in seats allows for water expansion
- Improved design for quiet operation
